“Some years ago I joined a cycle ride through the Dutch landscape. We journeyed through diverse settings – open fields, alongside waterways, under huge wind farms, and through shady dark forests. Sander’s atmospheric painting, ‘Deep winter’ which we purchased, reminds me vividly of the Dutch forests we rode into.
